64th Birthday of 1991 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Dr. Aung San Suu Kyi

Des Moines - Dr. Aung San Suu Kyi was born in Rangoon on June 19th, 1945 to Burma’s independence hero and national leader General Aung San (Assassinated in July 19th 1947) and Daw Khin Kyi. She was educated in Burma, India and the United Kingdom. While studying at Oxford University, she met Michael Aris, a British citizen who she married in 1972. They had two sons, Alexander and Kim.

Aung San Suu Kyi life was simply start with losing a politician father and living outside the country after her mother has appointed as an ambassador to India and Nepal in early 1960s. She graduated Bachelor of Arts in philosophy, politics, and economics. In addition, joins UN secretariat as Assistant Secretary for Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions.

She had returned to Burma to nurse her dying mother and immediately plunged into the country’s nation wide democracy uprising in 1988. 26 years long, Burma Socialist Programme Party stopped by that, but military reestablished and formed the military regime by killing thousands. She had insisted with calling a democracy government and formed National League for Democracy (NLD) party.

Her mother Daw Khin Kyi, died at the age of seventy-six on December 27th 1988. Aung San Suu Kyi vows as her father and mother had served the people of Burma, so she would even unto death.

Aung San Suu Kyi has been in and out of arrest ever since. She was under house arrest from 1989 to 1995 and from 2000 to 2002. The regime’s militia attacked her in May 30th 2003, up to one hundred people were dead and she was under house arrest again.

After 6 years under house arrest, she was been taking to notorious Insein prison in Rangoon by accusation of breaching the terms which refer to an intruded American citizen. John William Yettaw, who swam across near by lake to her house and stayed for two days in early 2009 May.

She has won numerous international awards, including the Nobel Peace prize (1991), the Sakharov Prize (1991) from the European Parliament, the United States Presidential Medal of Freedom (2000) and Congressional Gold Medal (2008). She has called on people around the world to join the struggle for freedom in Burma, saying, “Please use your liberty to promote ours.”

Temporarily founded the Iowa United Tribes of Burma in Des Moines had planned to hold becoming anniversary birthday of 64 years old, Aung San Suu Kyi to fulfill her wishes as promptly promoting and raise her voice echoes in above. Same as many more millions people around the world worriedly watch on her facing unforeseen injustice trial result, the Burmese people have gather and try to make a powerful wishes for her happily freedom before the birthday June 19th. The ceremony will be start evening 5pm to 7pm at Polk County Hall, River Place 2309 Euclid Ave, Des Moines on Sunday, June 14th.

As to hope is to believe, to believe is to pray would never be fail. The Burmese people live in Des Moines, have put their voices for a silence nation; Burma to get free with its beloved Aung San Suu Kyi by peace, justice and rights from their united hearts in that day.

And renown totally, the City of Des Moines, would have been recognize a woman’s lonely struggles to free from all fear and her truly effort for being deliver a genuine democracy in which deserted land by unbelievable courage.

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly, and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
